Damage from the storms included numerous downed fences that allowed livestock to escape into heavily wooded areas.
The team is asking for donations of feed and medicine.
The challenge for the Safe Haven team will be to find the animals and give them medical care and food.
"A lot of them got killed, but they're finding them a lot of them coming out of the woods now that got away. They're hurt , injured, a lot of them have cuts and bruises and things, and that's what we're going to tend to for the next couple of days," said Richard Fincher, director of Safe Haven.
