Police identify woman found dead in Longview motel

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) – Longview Police Investigators have identified the female body found in an Executive Inn room as Bridget Jefferson, 37, of White Oak.

Authorities are treating the case as a homicide.

The body was found at the Executive Inn in the 1900 block of East Marshall Avenue around 8 this morning

Officers were dispatched at 7:58 this morning for a welfare check. It was at the far end of the motel where they made a startling and disturbing find. Officers entered the room and discovered an adult female deceased.

Other guests were unnerved to hear that a guest had died, and no one seemed to know who she was.

The Justice of the Peace told KLTV that a woman in her mid 30's had been dead an estimated 5-6 hours.

With no definitive answers as to what happened, Police are counting on surveillance cameras that are positioned at strategic points around the hotel to tell them who may have been there in the last twelve hours.

No hotel guests heard anything. No struggle, shots, or shouting.

Police collected evidence at the scene and are trying to determine who may have been at the room over the past day, and what may have led to the woman's death.

Investigators say there was confusion about the woman's identification.

The cause of death has not been released.
