Donations needed: benefit for 11-year-old with cerebral palsy | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
The Klemente Klein Benefit is an organized group of friends, family, and health care workers looking to better the living conditions for Klemente Klein, an extraordinary 11-year-old young man who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. He was born at 23 weeks, which triggered a sequence of thirty-four traumatic surgeries.
Despite obstacles in his life, this young man serves as a source of inspiration for those closest to him. The group is seeking donations in order to give Klemente a new home where he can experience life to the best of his abilities.
The home he currently lives in is not conducive to Klemente's basic needs for adaptive daily living; possessing safety risks for nurses, physical therapists and Klemente.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation chose to give Klemente the wish of a therapy room, but unfortunately, due to the conditions of the family's current home, the Make A Wish foundation is unable to grant Klemente his wish at this time.
Klemente's mom has been denied by the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, USDA, as well as Habitat for Humanity because she has not lived in Longview for one full year.
Paula Gentry, the 2013 County Commissioner-elect of Pct 1 has joined in helping with the benefit for Klemente. We make a heartfelt plea to all who choose to help Klemente and his family due to such hardships.
The benefit will be on November 17, 2012 from noon until 6:00 p.m.There will be a silent auction from noon to 5 p.m. Local churches will perform gospel music during the event. Benefit admission will be $7 for adults and $3 for children.
It will take place in Gladewater's former student building, located at 2509 Hendricks Street, Gladewater, Texas.
Donations are needed; even if you live outside the area, please consider donating any of the following:
